"Many of you novices may be wondering why we issue the knife to all trainees. Your knife is a tool as much as it is a weapon- whit it, you will draw forth what is needed to perform the basic duties of an Invocator. Summoning, Binding, Banishing, the use of a tool such as this is integral to all of them. The bone and brass blade can be used to channel energy just as easily as it can be used to draw your own blood to create a summoning. The synchronizer on the pommel has been adapted to work with any number of devices, including the interfaces of the airships you will one day help to pilot. And the edge?
"The edge will cut. And you'll be using it on yourselves. As Invocators, you already know this- no power comes without a price. And the price, will always be paid out in one currency- your life. Drop by precious drop. That's what we sell in return for our power."
-Excerpt from a Royal Academy training speech.

The paint's Jacquard Lumiere- a mix of their "antiqued brass" and "bronze." Sorry, but I didn't track the exact ratio when I was mixing. It's bonded down with the same protectant I use on a lot of the masks I make, so it's also made to take a beating.

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 10 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
When it comes to community spirit, `Rushy is a shining example. From participating in devmeets, to providing positive encouragement to other artists, `Rushy can always be found demonstrating what it really takes to be a true deviant. It's without any hesitation that we are delighted to award the Deviousness Award for July 2009 to `RushyRead More
