By now, I shouldn't have to tell you what Steampunk is. If you've been following it at all, it's the latest craze to sweep the arts and the internet. And why not? The rumbling of engines, the clanking of gears, the high adventure, science, and amazing wonders- I could go on, but better yet, check out some of these steamy pieces from some very talented deviants!

Also, check it out! there;s now even a club for steampunks and the artists who tolerate/make stuff for them! :iconsteampunk-club: Go check it out!

And with that said, thanks for catching this edition of Winnegan's Picks. Updating infrequently from atop the spire of Mad Science, we're sure to be covering something interesting....

Quite unimpressed. Yes, they're beautiful, but where's the practical application? Most of it is nothing more than beautiful.

I see quite a few useful items. There's a watch chain with a working compass and it can actually hold a watch... imagine that. The chatelaine is for holding useful items which, on that chatelaine anyway, actually do get used. There seems to be a functioning watch and LOOK a little motor that actually runs. Finally I am pretty sure you could use those throwing stars for throwing at a deserving party with satisfying results. Of course you can hardly sat anything against the goggles. I think you complained about the wrong collection as serving no purpose because quite a few of those do. Of course it's not like it really matters as the site is called Deviant *ART*.

Well, I'm more the down to Earth type. I don't say anything against goggles - it would be preposterous if you look at my own work - but I prefer the rugged things that can survive pitched dirigible battles for decades - or at least look like they could. I'm better off manning the tesla cannon or stoking the boiler (or building better ways to use both, maybe building contraptions derived from their inner workings) than in high society. Just the grimy spark from the bowels of Castle Wulfenbach.
